基本概况。《化学与生物工程》（Chemistry ＆ Bioengineering），月刊，中文核心期刊，中国科技核心期刊。创刊于1984年，由原《湖北化工》于2003年更名而来，湖北省教育厅主管，武汉工程大学、湖北省化学化工学会、湖北省化学研究院、湖北省化学工业研究设计院共同主办，面向国内外公开发行的化学化工、生物化工领域的专业技术类期刊。国内统一连续出版物号CN 42-1710/TQ，国际标准连续出版物号ISSN 1672-5425，国内邮发代号38-356，国外发行代号BM1811，广告发布登记编号：鄂广登准字（2019）420000002。

 办刊宗旨。坚持贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想，坚持正确的政治方向、舆论导向和价值取向，把社会效益放在首位，把控学术质量，推动学术创新，为广大科技工作者提供特色鲜明的一流科研成果交流平台，服务行业发展，推动化学化工产业绿色、高质量、可持续发展。

报道范围。报道化学化工、生物化工、生物工程、医药化工、生态化工、化工环保等领域科技成果与技术进展。重点报道化学合成新工艺、生物化工合成（发酵工程、酶工程）、生物催化剂、清洁化工技术等方面的科技成果与技术进展。

主要栏目。 综述专论、科学研究、开发应用、分析检测等。

编委会。编委会由4位院士及41位资深专家组成，在提升期刊学术影响力与办刊质量方面发挥了重要作用。

主办会议。为进一步提高期刊的知名度，有效团结化学化工、生物化工专家群体，聚集并吸引一批引领学科发展方向的优质稿源，促进期刊更好地服务化学化工科技工作者。2015年起，《化学与生物工程》编辑部连续参与主办了9届“湖北省化学化工青年科学家论坛”，邀请到化学化工行业内院士、长江学者特聘教授、国家杰青、国家优青等60余位及170位优秀青年科技工作者到会作学术报告，来自湖北省2800余位青年科技工作者到会交流，促进科技成果转化32项、编印论文（摘要）集7本、出版论文专辑2本，评选“优秀论文（摘要）”60篇、“优秀青年报告”52个。论坛得到中国科学技术协会、中国石油和化学工业联合会、中国化学会、中国化工学会、湖北省科学技术协会、湖北省化学化工学会等有关部门、与会代表的高度认可和赞扬，先后受到《中国化工报》《武汉科技报》、新浪财经、湖北教育新闻网、今日头条、搜狐、中化新网等重要媒体的广泛关注和报道。现已成为湖北省化学化工行业规格较高、影响力较大的学术交流平台，在传播科学技术、推动社会发展方面发挥了重要作用，产生了较好的社会与经济效益。

Introduction to "Chemistry ＆ Bioengineering"

Basic introduction. "Chemistry & Bioengineering" (monthly), a Chinese core journal and a China science and technology core journal. It was founded in 1984 and was renamed from the original "Hubei Chemical Industry" in 2003. It is supervised by the Department of Education of Hubei Province, co-organized by Wuhan Institute of Technology, Hubei Provincial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Society, Hubei Research Institute of Chemistry, and Hubei Research and Design Institute of Chemical Industry. It is a professional technical journal in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering and bioengineering, and is published for both domestic and international circulation. The domestic unified serial publication number is CN 42-1710/TQ, the international standard serial number is ISSN 1672-5425, the domestic postal distribution code is 38-356, the overseas P.O. registration is BM1811, and the advertising registration number is： Hubei Advertising License No. (2019)420000002.

Aim of publication. Adhere to the correct political direction, public opinion guidance, and value orientation, prioritize social benefits, control academic quality, promote academic innovation, provide a distinctive and first-class platform for the exchange of scientific research results among scientific and technological workers, serve the development of the industry, and promote the green, high-quality, and sustainable development of the chemistry and chemical engineering industries.

Coverage scope. Mainly reports scientific achievements and technological progress in fields such as chemistry and chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, bioengineering, pharmaceutical chemistry, ecological chemistry, and chemical environmental protection. Focuses on publishing research papers in areas such as new chemical synthesis processes, biochemical synthesis(fermentation engineering, enzyme engineering), biological catalysts, and clean chemical technologies.

Main sections. Review, Research, Development ＆ Application, Analysis ＆ Determination, etc.

Editorial Board. The Editorial Board consists of 4 academicians and 41 senior experts. It has played a significant role in enhancing the academic influence and publication quality of the journal.

Important inclusion. Continuously included in the "China Science Core Journals" released by the China Academy of Science Information(since 2004) and continuously included in RCCSE China Core Academic Journals(since 2009); included in the "Chinese Core Journals Directory" of Peking University Library(2023 edition); a statistical source journal of the China Academic Journal Impact Factor Annual Report; included in important databases such as the American Chemical Abstracts(CA), "China Academic Journals(CD-ROM Edition)", and "Wanfang Data Digital Periodicals". It ranks in the Q1 zone of the influence index of the discipline of chemical engineering.

Organizing conferences. In order to further enhance the journal's reputation and effectively unite the experts in chemistry and chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, gather and attract a group of high-quality sources of manuscripts that lead the development direction of the discipline, and promote the journal to better serve the chemistry and chemical engineering scientists, the Editorial Department has consecutively held 8 sessions of the "Hubei Province Young Scientists Forum in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering" since 2015, inviting over 60 academicians, Changjiang Scientists, National Distinguished Young Scientists, and National Excellent Young Scientists, as well as 150 outstanding young scientific researchers to attend and give academic reports. More than 2 000 young scientific researchers from Hubei Province attended the forum for exchanges. This forum promoted 27 scientific and technological achievements, compiled 6 volumes of papers(abstracts), published 2 volumes of paper albums, selected 48 "Outstanding Papers(Abstracts)" and 40 "Outstanding Young Reports". The forum was highly recognized and praised by relevant departments and attending representatives such as the China Association for Science and Technology, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Chinese Chemical Society, Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, Hubei Association for Sciences ＆ Technology, and Hubei Provincial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Society. It has received extensive attention and coverage from important media such as China Chemical Industry News, Sina Finance, Hubei Education News Network, and China Chemical Industry News. It has now become a high-level and influential academic exchange platform in the chemistry and chemical industry of Hubei Province. It has played an important role in disseminating science and technology and promoting social development, and has achieved good social and economic benefits.

Honorary awards. It has been repeatedly commended by industry associations, academic societies, and relevant departments. In 2015, it was awarded the First Prize of the 8th "National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Excellent Periodicals" by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation; in 2012, 2016, and 2023, it was rated as an "Excellent Science Journal" by the Hubei Association for Sciences ＆ Technology under the "Innovation Source Project of Science and Technology"; in 2015, it was awarded the "Advanced Collective for Popular Science Promotion" by the Hubei Province Editology Society for Science Periodicals and the Wuhan Baifinudong Protection Foundation; in 2017, it was rated as an "Outstanding Information Agency in the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry" by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation; in 2015, 2019, and 2024, it was rated as an "Academic Activity Advanced Unit" by the Hubei Provincial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Society; in 2020 and 2023, it was included in the "Top 100 List of Petroleum and Chemical Journals in China"; in 2021, it was rated as an "Advanced Information Unit of the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry in the '13th Five-Year Plan'", and the "Hubei Province Young Scientists Forum in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering" organized by it was awarded the Third Prize in the "Outstanding Information Achievement of the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry in the '13th Five-Year Plan'"; in 2024, it was awarded the Advanced Collective for "Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China" by the Hubei Province Editology Society for Science Periodicals.
